When it comes to navigating your career, popular wisdom says it helps to have a mentor.
Problem is, not everybody has someone they can talk to let alone a mentor they can learn from.
That’s why I created therealceo.
After years of both coaching and mentoring countless ambitious young women, I realised a lot of the issues they raised for discussion were about overcoming challenges. From a boss supressing their ambition, difficult work colleagues to various confusing office experiences; the issues were shared. What’s more, they felt they were alone. Overwhelmed by politics, pressure, conflict and ambition and often working in an environment where mentoring and coaching was not a skill their leaders possessed.
therealceo deals with these real work issues and more. From egocentric recruiters, navigating messy office politics, managing an insecure boss to working within crap company cultures. Plus we look at practical ways to survive and identify opportunities. All through the sharing of true stories, harsh realities and posing tough questions.
It’s a place to be honest about your experiences. You can learn from others & from me, experiment with ideas & importantly know that you are not alone.
So, who is therealceo? When I’m not writing, I’m busy being a successful businesswoman in corporate Australia. I have a long professional history in various industries and styles of companies, big and small. I’ve had my share of challenges, sticky situations, massive promotions, dramatic exits, huge wins and everything in between. And I’ve often felt alone. Couple that with the issues women face in the workplace, managing a family and navigating change and I’ve got one hell of story to tell. Importantly, I’ve learnt a lot.
And through it all I have continued to mentor and coach young, ambitious women. Those relationships are rarely about providing answers. Instead, they are about sharing honest stories, sometimes harsh insights or exposing the ugly side of business as well as celebrating the joy of winning. Ultimately arming them with the knowledge to get ahead. Their progress (and immense appreciation) has always been inspiring and truly gratifying.
So, if your done with finding your ‘why’, exhausted from continually ‘hoping for the best’ and feel alone in the corporate jungle, join therealceo community, hang out with us on insta or email me your burning work challenge.
I can’t wait to hear your story and help you to be your best, most successful you.
